Qredits officially launched the first-ever Agri Business Academy (ABA) on Sint Maarten.
Philipsburg – September 1, 2025 – This month marks a significant milestone for Qredits as it celebrates its 7th anniversary of empowering small businesses across Sint Maarten, Saba, and Statia. Since its inception, Qredits has been a cornerstone of entrepreneurial development in the region, offering not just financial support, but also education, mentorship, and practical tools to help local businesses thrive.
Over the past seven years, Qredits has supported more than 650 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with essential loans, enabling them to launch, grow, and sustain their operations. These loans have been instrumental in fostering innovation, creating jobs, and stimulating local economies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Qredits responded swiftly by introducing special relief loans at a favorable 2% interest rate, helping businesses weather the economic storm.
This initiative provided a critical lifeline to many entrepreneurs facing unprecedented challenges.
In response to the ongoing electricity crisis affecting the islands, Qredits also launched Energy Loans to finance the purchase and installation of solar panels and generators. This forward-thinking initiative supports sustainable energy solutions and helps businesses remain operational during power outages.
Another major achievement is the establishment of the Small Business Academy, which offers structured training programs tailored to the needs of aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. Through this academy, participants gain valuable knowledge in areas such as budgeting, marketing, and personal effectiveness.
Qredits also hosts regular workshops and coaching sessions, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship. These efforts equip entrepreneurs with the confidence and skills needed to navigate the complexities of running a business. As Qredits celebrates this 7-year milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to building a resilient and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
By continuing to invest in people and ideas, Qredits is helping to shape a brighter economic future for the Dutch Caribbean.
