First-ever Agri Business Academy (ABA) on Sint Maarten!

Qredits officially launched the first-ever Agri Business Academy (ABA) on Sint Maarten, welcoming 20 enthusiastic participants to embark on an exciting journey of growth and development. This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant milestone for local entrepreneurs in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, providing them with the tools and resources needed to thrive in their respective industries.

Empowering Agri-Businesses Through Training and Financial Support

The Agri Business Academy is a key component of the broader Agri Project, designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the agri-business sector. The academy offers participants a unique and innovative combination of practical business training alongside financial support tailored to their needs.

One of the standout features of this program is the opportunity for participants to access microloans of up to $50,000. These loans are offered at a remarkably favorable interest rate of just 2%, making it easier for entrepreneurs to invest in and expand their businesses.

This financial support is aimed at stimulating growth and fostering innovation in the island’s agricultural sector.

Collaborative Effort Driving Sustainable Growth on Sint Maarten

The Agri Project is the result of a collaborative effort, bringing together several key stakeholders, including Qredits, the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT), and project manager SoFin. The initiative is financially supported by the Tijdelijke Werkorganisatie (TWO), demonstrating a shared commitment to the island’s economic advancement.

By launching the Agri Business Academy, Qredits and its partners aim to empower local entrepreneurs by equipping them with the skills and capital needed to succeed. Beyond individual success, this initiative also contributes to strengthening food security and fostering sustainable economic development on Sint Maarten. It represents a forward-thinking approach to building resilience and self-reliance within the local economy, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future for the island.
