Philipsburg, May 30 2024 – Qredits Sint Maarten proudly hosted the closing ceremony of its first Small Business Academy cohort of the year, celebrating the achievements of 27 dedicated participants who successfully completed the intensive entrepreneurial training program. This event marked another important step in Qredits’ ongoing mission to strengthen the local business ecosystem and empower aspiring entrepreneurs across the island.
The Small Business Academy is a structured program designed to equip participants with essential skills in business planning, financial management, marketing, and personal development. Over the course of several weeks, participants engaged in hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and one-on-one coaching, all aimed at preparing them to launch or grow their businesses with confidence and clarity.
This cohort’s success was made possible in part thanks to the generous support of the SXM National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB), which subsidized a significant portion of the course fees. Their contribution reflects a shared commitment to rebuilding and revitalizing Sint Maarten’s economy through entrepreneurship and innovation.
The closing ceremony featured a dynamic and inspiring panel of judges, including Minister of Finance Ardwell Irion, local entrepreneur Damien Schmidt, and Qredits lecturers Lucrecia Lynch and Edsel Gumbs. Participants had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to the panel, receiving valuable feedback and encouragement that will help shape their entrepreneurial journeys.
